On the 9th September 2016 the Mayor of Bury, Cllr Mike Connolly cut the ribbon to formally open the Radcliffe Manor heritage trail. He also took the opportunity to thank representatives of the Heritage Lottery Fund for its support in making the project possible.
Members of the Project Steering Group have set up a Friends group to organise future events and to continue the research and improvement of the site.
They have set up a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Friends-of-Radcliffe-Manor-1717071091897767/?fref=ts
On 23rd April a number of volunteers who had helped with the archaeological digs or the research for the project were invited to a preview of Radcliffe Manor Heritage Trail. Although the site hadn’t yet grassed over, the sun shone and the information panels looked good. The visit included the dedication of a bench in memory of Brian Grimsditch, who led the early stages of the project’s archaeological investigation.
